Quod North secured outline planning consent, on behalf of Miller Birch developments, for circa 20,000sqm of office floorspace on the outskirts of Nottingham City Centre. Once constructed, the scheme will complete the ng2 Business Park. Whilst being primarily office led, the consent also permits the development of either a hotel or car showroom on part of the site as well as the development of an ancillary restaurant/café to serve the surrounding business park.
The ng2 business park is one of the pre-eminent business parks within the City, and was built on the former BAE Factory site, to the west of the City. It already contains approximately 40,000sqm of offices, anchored by Experian and Speedo, along with a host of other businesses. The expansion now permitted will enable the business park to continue to build on its economic success.
Quod led the project management of the application and prepared the supporting evidence to justify the application. Through a thorough evidence base, Quod successfully negotiated a consent with few planning controls and a limited extent s106 agreement (with only a single obligation of a financial contribution to local employment initiatives).
