Quod is providing planning, socio-economic and EIA advice in respect of a planning application for Castle Acres Shopping Park, a major new shopping park in Leicestershire. The detailed planning application was submitted by Quod in May 2015 and is currently pending consideration.
On behalf of Next Retail Limited, Everards Brewery and Foss Park West LP, plans were submitted for a major new 350,000 sq ft retail destination, on the site of Everards’ existing brewery next to Fosse Shopping Park.
The £150m scheme includes a 90,000 sq ft Next Fashion Home and Garden store which will anchor the development, along with around 20 new shops, as well as restaurants and cafés, and a pedestrian link to the existing Fosse Shopping Park to provide a comprehensive retail offer for shoppers.
The proposed development will deliver a new and exciting fashion led retail scheme to complement Fosse Park’s existing shops and services, and will deliver over 2,000 local jobs.
The proposed development will also allow the relocation of Everards Brewery, an important local employer, to state of the art brewing and leisure facilities immediately to the south of the Castle Acres Shopping Park site, which already benefits from planning permission.
