Quod is advising One Housing on their existing housing estates at Juniper Crescent and Gilbeys Yard following the Councils publication of a wider area planning framework in 2018. Quod have been leading the Options Appraisal stage, establishing the overall process in line with relevant guidance, and assessing the planning, financial and housing aspects of potential options for development.
Quod have engaged with residents throughout the process to date ensuring the wishes and needs of residents were a central factor in deciding a way forward. The preferred option of full redevelopment was concluded in May 2018 which would enable like for like replacement of existing affordable homes and c.500 new homes including additional affordable housing provided onsite.
Quod were involved in the development partner process to secure funding for any redevelopment option with Countryside being selected in Summer 2019. Quod are now working with One Housing and Countryside to work up the detailed design and landlord offer before a Residents Ballot in 2020. Following the outcome of the residents ballot they will then be looking to submit a planning application for approval later next year.
