John Rhodes was surprised and delighted to be appointed as an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the 2015 New Year’s Honours List. The citation explains that the honour has been awarded for services to “the economy, planning and communities”. The award follows John’s close involvement with the formulation of Government planning policy in the NPPF, together with his work on Planning Practice Guidance and the Community Infrastructure Levy, working closely with DCLG.

John attended at Buckingham Palace in February to receive his award from the Prince of Wales, following which he was embarrassed to be the centre of attention as Quod celebrated in traditional style.
